How to Modify Exe File

1) Don't try to modify a prog by editing his source in a dissasembler. Why? Cause that's for programmers and assembly experts only. try to view it in hex you'll only get tons of crap you don't understand. First off, you need Resource Hacker(last version). It's a resource editor- very easy to use, You can download it at h**p://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ 2) Unzip the archive, and run ResHacker.exe. You can check out the help file too 3) You will see that the interface is simple and clean. Go to the menu FileOpen or press Ctrl+O to open a file. Browse your way to the file you would like to edit. You can edit *.exe, *.dll, *.ocx, *.scr and *.cpl files, but this tutorial is to teach you how to edit *.exe files, so open one. 4) In the left side of the screen a list of sections will appear. Get Serial Numbers of Everything

* Go to Google. * In the search field type: "Product name" 94FBR * Where, "Product Name" is the name of the item you want to find the serial number for. * And voila - there you go - the serial number you needed. HOW DOES THIS WORK? 94FBR is part of a Office 2000 Pro cd key that is widely distributed as it bypasses the activation requirements of Office 2K Pro. By searching for the product name and 94fbr, you guarantee two things. 1) The pages that are returned are pages dealing specifically with the product you're wanting a serial for. 2) Because 94FBR is part of a serial number, and only part of a serial number, you guarantee that any page being returned is a serial number list page. See these example searches: 1 "Photoshop 7" 94FBR 2 "Nero Burning Rom 5.5" 94FBR.

10 Security Tips

Before you spend a dime on security, there are many precautions you can take that will protect you against the most common threats. 1. Check Windows Update and Office Update regularly (_http://office.microsoft.com/productupdates); have your Office CD ready. Windows Me, 2000, and XP users can configure automatic updates. Click on the Automatic Updates tab in the System control panel and choose the appropriate options. 2. Install a personal firewall. Both SyGate (_www.sygate.com) and ZoneAlarm (_www.zonelabs.com) offer free versions. 3. Install a free spyware blocker. Our Editors' Choice ("Spyware," April 22) was SpyBot Search & Destroy (_http://security.kolla.de). SpyBot is also paranoid and ruthless in hunting out tracking cookies. 4. Block pop-up spam messages in Windows NT, 2000, or XP by disabling the Windows Messenger service (this is unrelated to the instant messaging program). Open Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services and you'll see Messe...

Backtracking EMAIL Messages

A sk most people how they determine who sent them an email message and the response is almost universally, "By the From line." Unfortunately this symptomatic of the current confusion among internet users as to where particular messages come from and who is spreading spam and viruses. The "From" header is little more than a courtesy to the person receiving the message. People spreading spam and viruses are rarely courteous. In short, if there is any question about where a particular email message came from the safe bet is to assume the "From" header is forged. So how do you determine where a message actually came from? You have to understand how email messages are put together in order to backtrack an email message. SMTP is a text based protocol for transferring messages across the internet. A series of headers are placed in front of the data portion of the message. By examining the headers you can usually backtrack a message to the source network, sometim...

Win Rar Compression profiles, passwords and more

First of all Set your options correctly Open WInRar OPTIONS | SETTINGS | COMPRESSSION | CREATE DEFAULT GENERAL | (ok now that we're there, here's what U do next) But 1st -> realize that everything U set on the default profile will occur every time U Rar files. So if U only needs a password occasionally, or other special settings, then create another profile for those purposes. U can change which profile U need to use when WInRar is open. The Default profile is used otherwise, such as when using WInRar from the context menus in explorer. You Want Lots Of Music, Anything? Try Dex Hunting

Now what's this Dex Hunting, anyway? See: lots of people post files of any kind on their websites to share them with friends. Those files are "protected" by not mentioning them. There's no visible link given, and for literally hundreds of thousands this seems to be enough. What they don't know: There are many nice techniques to locate the invisible stuff. I don't want to get in too deep - and as I'm rather new here it's possible some of the tricks might have been posted elsewhere. But if you want to find lots of music the way I described it - and want other people doing the "dirty" work I recommend: STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN A free message board - gathering place of the best "dex hunters" in the universe. There you will find loads of *fresh* (!) mp3 links. Not only this - they update with lightspeed. This is a site you won't visit once a month or once a week. I visit them hourly, and I know why. Change the CHKDSK countdown time

When you schedule CHKDSK to run at the next boot, the system will prompt you to press a key to cancel the operation while CHKDSK is running. The system will display a countdown during that cancel period. The default value is 10 seconds. To Change this open up Regedit and locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\AutoChkTimeOut You can change the value to anything from zero to 259,200 seconds (3 days). With a timeout of zero, there is no countdown and you cannot cancel the operation.

Why wait 35 Seconds at EZshare?

The EZshare site uses a simple JavaScript function to encode the generated URL link and make us wait for 35 seconds before its decoded and shown. Instead of waiting one can view the source of the page and copy the contents that start with 'unescape' For example Code: unescape('%3C%68%32%3E%3C%66%6F%6E%74%20%63%6F%6C%6F%72%3D%22%23%43%43%30%30%30%30 %22%3E%20%44%6F%77%6E%6C%6F%61%64%3A%3C%2F%66%6F%6E%74%3E%20%3C%61%20%68%72%65% 66%3D%22%68%74%74%70%3A%2F%2F%65%7A%73%68%61%72%65%2E%64%65%2F%66%69%6C%65%73%2D %65%6E%2F%31%39%38%33%33%38%2F%31%38%34%2F%69%70%69%63%6F%6E%7A%2E%72%61%72%22%3E %69%70%69%63%6F%6E%7A%2E%72%61%72%3C%2F%61%3E%3C%2F%68%32%3E') And can use a simple decoder html page. I found one at Code: http://www.linkedresources.com/tools/unescaper_v0.2b1.html It works offline. As it uses only JavaScript. so you guys can save it. Instead of viewing the source.copy'g ...converting... I wrote a small VB app which does ...
